William A. Clark, 1839 - 1926: The Copper King. In addition to Clarkdale, we have Clark County, NV, where he founded the RR town of The Meadows, later changing its name to Spanish Las Vegas. I live on Clark Ave. My folks lived on Monlaco Road, short for the Montana Land Company, which was Clark's. He was the first Senator from Montana when it became a state. He was the second richest man in the USA after John Rockefeller, yet he has been erased in history because nobody liked him. $600 million in 1900.
